Pablo Picasso

01 May

Pablo Picasso’s ceramics were used (with the Picasso estate’s permission) to create intarsia-knitted sweaters in the Jil Sander by Raf Simons Spring/Summer 2012 Collection.

Some Pablo Picasso-inspired collections : Chadwick Bell Autumn/Winter 2012-2013 (based in part on Picasso’s « Boy with a Pipe »), Duro Olowu Spring/Summer 2010 (influenced by the palette of Picasso’s « Mosqueteros’ » paintings), Felicity Brown Autumn/Winter 2011-2012 (Picasso’s ballet illustrations were the starting point), Gattinoni Spring/Summer 2002 (Picasso’s paintings, in particular « Guernica »), Giorgio Armani Autumn/Winter 2001-2002 (Picasso’s blue period inspired the evening outfits), Nonja McKenzie Spring/Summer 2009 (Picasso’s painting of a woman who sleeps), Oscar de la Renta Resort 2012 (Picasso’s cubist period), Rick Owens Spring/Summer 2011 (outfits inspired in part by Picasso’s « White Doves » cardboard cutouts), Salvatore Ferragamo by Massimiliano Giornetti Spring/Summer 2012 Menswear (the starting point was the concept of Picasso in his atelier, in the South of France), Yves Saint Laurent Couture Autumn/Winter 1979-1980.
