Sterling Ruby’s spray-painted canvases inspired the painted silks he made, in collaboration with Bucol, for some dresses of the Dior by Raf Simons Couture Autumn/Winter 2012-2013 Collection.

Another Sterling Ruby-inspired collection : Proenza Schouler Spring/Summer 2011.

Other designers who made painted dresses in collaboration with artists : Cacharel by Cédric Charlier (with Alberto Vejarano, for the Cacharel by Cédric Charlier Spring/Summer 2010 Collection), Dolce & Gabbana (with students from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, in Milan, for the Dolce & Gabbana Spring/Summer 2008 Show, which featured a video of action painting scenes shot during this collaboration), Jean-Charles de Castelbajac (from 1982 to 1985, with Miquel Barcelo, Ben, Jean-Charles Blais, Rémy Blanchard, François Boisrond, Robert Combas, Hervé Di Rosa, Gérard Garouste, Keith Haring, Alain Jacquet, Denis Laget, Christian de Laubadère, Gilles Mahé, Annette Messager and Loulou Picasso).
