Mylène Farmer

02 Oct

Mylène Farmer, « Libertine » era, was one of the ’80s pop stars who influenced fashion that Jean Paul Gaultier celebrated in his Spring/Summer 2013 Show.

Some Mylène Farmer-inspired collections or Mylène Farmer’s collaborations : Franck Sorbier (the couturier designed the costumes of Mylène Farmer’s series of 13 concerts at Paris’ Bercy, which kicked off on January 13, 2006 ; in July 2006, Sephora released a Franck Sorbier-designed « Mylène Farmer’s stage costume / Costume de scène de Mylène Farmer » T-shirt, sold to benefit the Autistes sans frontières / Autists without borders Association), Jean Paul Gaultier Autumn/Winter 2002-2003 Menswear (this « Garçons-garçonnes » collection was based in part on Mylène Farmer, « Libertine » era ; moreover, Jean Paul Gaultier created the costumes of Mylène Farmer’s « N° 5 on tour » concerts, in 2009, and Mylène Farmer took to the catwalk for the 61st look of the Jean Paul Gaultier Couture Autumn/Winter 2011-2012 Show), Paco Rabanne (Paco Rabanne created Mylène Farmer’s stage costumes for her 2nd tour, in 1996), Thierry Mugler (the couturier designed Mylène Farmer’s stage outfits for her 1st tour, « En Concert », in 1989).

Moreover, in October 1987, Mylène Farmer sang Juliette Gréco’s « Déshabillez-moi » (« Undress Me ») during the French Fashion Oscars.
