Daniel Buren

05 Oct

Daniel Buren’s « Les Deux Plateaux » work, in the Palais Royal’s Cour d’Honneur, in Paris, was the starting point of the Louis Vuitton by Marc Jacobs Spring/Summer 2013 Show (Daniel Buren collaborated on the set, which featured 4 escalators and a huge white and yellow check runway).

Other Daniel Buren-inspired collections or Daniel Buren’s collaborations : Chanel (in 2008, Daniel Buren was one of the artists who created an artwork inspired by Chanel’s « 2.55 » bag, for an exhibition in the Zaha Hadid-designed « Chanel Mobile Art », inaugurated in Hong Kong), Dries Van Noten Spring/Summer 2009 (presented at the Palais Royal, this show featured some Daniel Buren-style stripes which echoed the Daniel Buren’s in situ « Les Deux Plateaux » work, in the Palais Royal’s Cour d’Honneur), Hermès (in 2000, Daniel Buren inaugurated Hermès’ Verrière Gallery, in Brussels, with an installation on its walls ; in November 2006, a Maison Hermès was inaugurated in Seoul, with another Daniel Buren’s installation ; in 2010, Daniel Buren collaborated on the « Photos-souvenirs au carré » line of 365 silk scarves, which reproduced 22 of Daniel Buren’s photographs ; these scarves were presented during the « Photos-souvenirs au carré Daniel Buren » exhibition, at the Monnaie de Paris, from October 20 to November, 7, 2010, to coincide with the 37th Paris International Contemporary Art Fair), Jean-Charles de Castelbajac Spring/Summer 2012 (Daniel Buren-style stripes), Jonathan Saunders Autumn/Winter 2007-2008 (the horizontal lines which highlighted the waist were inspired in part by Daniel Buren’s stripes), Jonathan Saunders Spring/Summer 2011 (some pieces evoked Daniel Buren’s works, especially « Cabane Eclatée V2-21 By 1 »), Nina Ricci (in 1992, Daniel Buren decorated the windows of the Nina Ricci store).

Admiring the time and energy you put into your blog and in depth
information you offer. It’s good to come across a blog every once in a while that isn’t the same out
of date rehashed information. Excellent read! I’ve saved your site and I’m including your RSS feeds
    to my Google account.
