The Jean Paul Gaultier Autumn/Winter 2011-2012 Menswear Show, « James Blond », was inspired by James Bond.

Other James Bond-influenced collections, items or shows : BCBG Max Azria Spring/Summer 2012 (the hairstyle, by Neil Moodie, was based on the scene of Lewis Gilbert’s « The Spy Who Loved Me », when Barbara Bach brushes her hair after coming out of the water), Comme des Garçons Spring/Summer 2008 (the theme of the « James Bond » movies was on the soundtrack of this show), Hermès by Jean Paul Gaultier Autumn/Winter 2010-2011 (the theme of Guy Hamilton’s « Goldfinger » was on the soundtrack), Issa Autumn/Winter 2012-2013 (the theme of this collection, a Trans-Siberian trip from Moscow to Beijing, was « Russian doll meets James Bond »), Jean-Charles de Castelbajac 1984 (silk painted « James Bond » dress, with the portrait of Sean Connery), Jean Paul Gaultier Autumn/Winter 1979-1980 (collection dubbed « James Bond »), Kevan Hall (the themes of various « James Bond » films were on the soundtrack of his Los Angeles Fashion Week show, in March 2009), Neil Barrett Autumn/Winter 2008-2009 (James Bond-style tuxedos), Omega Autumn/Winter 2012-2013 (Daniel Craig, as James Bond, stars in this campaign, which highlights Sam Mendes’ « Skyfall », and the « SeaMasterPlanetOcean 600 M Skyfall » watch that Omega created for Sam Mendes’ movie, continuing the brand’s collaboration with the James Bond films, initiated in 1995, with Martin Campbell’s « GoldenEye »), O.P.I (to celebrate the release of Sam Mendes’ « Skyfall », O.P.I launches, for Autumn/Winter 2012-2013, a line of nail lacquers ; each of the 12 colors is named after a classic « James Bond » movie), Rag & Bone Spring/Summer 2008 (the starting point of this collection was late ’60s and early ’70s James Bond films), Roberto Coin Spring/Summer 2012 (« Octopus » ring, inspired by John Glen’s « Octopussy » film), Rodolphe Menudier (Rodolphe Menudier took inspiration from James Bond, for his footwear line, circa 1990-2000), Shipley & Halmos Spring/Summer 2009 (suits and tuxedos influenced by ’60s James Bond films), William Tempest Spring/Summer 2010 (named « A View to a Kill », after John Glen’s eponymous film, this collection was inspired by James Bond girls).

Moreover, the « Designing 007 : Fifty Years of Bond Style » exhibition, at the Barbican Centre, in London, from July 6 to September 5, 2012, highlighted the influence of Ian Fleming’s spy on fashion.
