Stephen Sprouse

09 Nov

Stephen Sprouse’s artworks inspired the « Graffiti » motif that he revisited for the Louis Vuitton by Marc Jacobs Spring/Summer 2001 Show (the Stephen Sprouse-designed « Rose » motif, which also appeared in this collection, on a silk skirt, was the 1st ever collaboration between Marc Jacobs and an artist, and was reinterpreted, in 2009, on Louis Vuitton’s « Monogram Rose » bags).

Other Stephen Sprouse-influenced collections and items or Stephen Sprouse’s collaborations : Diesel (in 2003, Stephen Sprouse redecorated Diesel’s store, on Union Square, for New York Fashion Week, and designed an exclusive range for Diesel, featuring hats, jeans and T-shirts), Louis Vuitton by Marc Jacobs Autumn/Winter 2006-2007 (Marc Jacobs paid tribute to Stephen Sprouse with pieces that revisited the Stephen Sprouse-designed red and black leopard print), Louis Vuitton X Stephen Sprouse (this line, launched on January 9, 2009, reinterpreted the « Graffiti » motif that Stephen Sprouse had revisited for Louis Vuitton’s Spring/Summer 2001 collection, and featured, among other items, graffiti-tagged bags, Bikinis, and jeans with DayGlo details ; for its launch, Louis Vuitton made a donation to the National Academy of Design-Stephen Sprouse Scholarship Fund, and, on December 15, 2008, unveiled the WeLoveSprouse site, dedicated to the artist / designer), Louis Vuitton by Julie de Libran Resort 2010 (this collection featured a scarf, made with different Louis Vuitton’s prints, including a Stephen Sprouse-designed pattern), Miss Sixty Spring/Summer 2008 (Stephen Sprouse-like prints on leggings), Wink Autumn/Winter 2000-2001 (this collection was an homage to Stephen Sprouse).

Appreciating the time and energy you put into your website and in depth information you offer.
It’s great to come across a blog every once in a while that isn’t the same outdated rehashed material.

Excellent read! I’ve saved your site and I’m adding
your RSS feeds to my Google account.
