Chanel Pre-Fall 2013Scotland, where Coco Chanel spent some time with the Duke of Westminster, her then-lover, influenced the Chanel by Karl Lagerfeld Pre-Fall 2013 Show, « Paris-Edinburgh », that took place on December 4, 2012 at the Linlithgow Palace, in Linlithgow, West Lothian.

Other Scotland-inspired collections : Alexander McQueen Autumn/Winter 1995-1996 (named « Highland Rape », this collection, about the 18th-century Jacobite Risings and the 19th-century Highland Clearances, was Alexander McQueen’s shout against some English designers who were creating flamboyant Scottish clothes ; it was also the 1st time that Alexander McQueen’s tartan was showcased), Alexander McQueen Autumn/Winter 2006-2007 (named « Widows of Culloden », this collection was inspired by the 1745 slaughter of the Scottish Jacobites by the English), Corrie Nielsen Autumn/Winter 2012-2013 (collection influenced by the Scottish Highlands), Holly Fulton Autumn/Winter 2011-2012 (collection inspired in part by the time that Coco Chanel spent in Scotland with the Duke of Westminster), House of Holland Autumn/Winter 2008-2009 (tartan-inspired collection), Jean-Charles de Castelbajac Couture Autumn/Winter 2000-2001 (this collection, named « Bellintellingentsia », showcased tartan motifs, especially the Royal Stewart tartan), Jean Paul Gaultier Spring/Summer 2013 Menswear (the pleated kilts were inspired by Scotland ; moreover, the Scottish kilt is one of Jean Paul Gaultier’s signature, especially in his Spring/Summer 1984 collection, named « The Return of the print / Le Retour de l’imprimé », his Autumn/Winter 1987-1988 Menswear collection, called « The Rock Stars / Les Rock Stars », his Autumn/Winter 1991-1992 Menswear collection, dubbed « The Prisoner / Le Prisonnier », his Autumn/Winter 1998-1999 Menswear collection, « Like a Prayer », and the Hermès by Jean Paul Gaultier Spring/Summer 2007 collection), L.A.M.B.
