Leonardo da Vinci’s quote, « Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication », was pinned on the moodboard of the Valentino by Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli Couture Autumn/Winter 2013-2014 Show.

Some Leonardo da Vinci-inspired collections and campaign : Chantelle (the « Sexy Shaping » lingerie range, launched in September 2011, was partly based on the perfect proportions in Leonardo da Vinci’s « Vitruvian Man » drawing), Delfina Delettrez (for her jewelry line, Delfina Delettrez sometimes draws inspiration from Leonardo da Vinci’s drawings of the human body), Marithé + François Girbaud Spring/Summer 2005 (the campaign for this collection, produced by the Air Agency, reproduced Leonardo da Vinci’s « Last Supper » campaign), Paco Rabanne (the Paco Lab capsule jewelry collection, designed in collaboration with Amelie Riech, and launched in September 2012, was influenced by Leonardo da Vinci’s quote, « Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication »).

Moreover, Salvatore Ferragamo unveiled the Salvatore Ferragamo by Massimiliano Giornetti Resort 2012 Collection at the Paris’ Louvre, on June 12, 2012, because the brand sponsored the « Saint Anne : Leonardo da Vinci’s Ultimate Masterpiece » exhibition, presented from March 29 until June 25, 2012, which highlighted Leonardo da Vinci’s « Virgin and Child with Saint Anne » painting.

I chose this particular one because of the “Leo” motif which echoes “Leo”(nardo) !

It’s a fantastic tribute to Leonardo da Vinci’s quote, and the “lion” pattern is amazing (I’m a Leo !). XX
