Lee Miller is one of the references of the Alexander McQueen by Sarah Burton Spring/Summer 2014 Show.
Other Lee Miller-inspired collections : Bally by Michael Herz and Graeme Fidler Autumn/Winter 2013-2014 (the coats were based on Lee Miller’s), Bibhu Mohapatra Autumn/Winter 2013-2014 (Man Ray’s images of muses such as Lee Miller influenced this collection), Bruno Pieters Autumn/Winter 2005-2006 (the ’20s-styled hair of this show was an homage to Lee Miller), Carven by Guillaume Henry Autumn/Winter 2011-2012 (Lee Miller was one of the muses of this collection), Gucci by Frida Giannini Autumn/Winter 2007-2008 (the vintage-influenced pieces of this show took inspiration from a biography of Lee Miller), Sonia Rykiel Pre-Fall 2012 (this surrealism-themed collection paid tribute, among other things, to Man Ray’s photograph of Lee Miller’s mouth in « Observatory Time – The Lovers »).

It truly respects the S&M theme which has always been present in the late Alexander “Lee” McQueen’s collections !

I love the bold color, the feathers and the fringe. I can see myself cutting off the top part of the dress because the bottom would make for an awesome maxi skirt, lol.

Indeed ! And you could sport it with a leather jacket to make it more “urban” ! XXX
