Josef Albers’ chromatic color variations inspired the Roksanda Ilincic Spring/Summer 2013 Collection (to celebrate the opening of her 1st shop, at 9 Mount Street, in London, in early 2014, Roksanda Ilincic and Gary Card have created an installation, which was on display in the store window from mid-October until mid-November 2013, featuring 8 Josef Albers-inspired dresses, made in collaboration with the Josef & Anni Albers Foundation, which will be available exclusively on Net-A-Porter.com).
Other Josef Albers-influenced collections : Apiece Apart Spring/Summer 2010 (partly), Hermès (for Autumn/Winter 2008-2009, Hermès Editeur launched the « Homage to the Square / Hommage au Carré » line, featuring 6 silk scarves, that reproduced Josef Albers’ « Homage to the Square » paintings), Jeremy Laing Autumn/Winter 2008-2009 (the starting point of this collection was based on the saturated colors of Josef Albers’ « Homage to the Square » series), Loomstate 321 Spring/Summer 2012 (Josef Albers’ paintings were referenced via pops of bright colors).
