Les Copains AW1314

Albert and David Maysles’ « Grey Gardens » documentary, about Edith Ewing Bouvier Beale (« Big Edie ») and Edith Bouvier Beale (« Little Edie »), influenced the Les Copains by Alessandro Dell’Acqua Autumn/Winter 2013-2014 Show.

Other « Grey Gardens »-inspired collections : Clements Ribeiro Autumn/Winter 2004-2005, J.Crew Autumn/Winter 2010-2011 (« Grey Gardens »-inspired styling), John Bartlett Autumn/Winter 2000-2001 (« Grey Gardens » was one of the references), John Galliano Spring/Summer 2008, Joseph Turvey Autumn/Winter 2012-2013 (this collection, based on « Grey Gardens », was Joseph Turvey’s graduate line at London’s Royal College of Art), 3.1 Phillip Lim Autumn/Winter 2007-2008.

What a great documentary it is too. Mesmerising and very poignant.

Just after publishing my post, I checked out the American “Vogue” website, and read, in her 2012 “Model Wall” feature, that it was Daisy Lowe’s favorite film ! X

Nooooooo way ! I don’t know why but I was sure that you had plenty of them ! Leopard-print accessories are my way of making my all-black city looks pop ! I have never tried it on a dress though, but this one is so chic and sexy that I totally understand why you want it ! Can’t wait to read your own take about leopard ! XO
