The jungle scenes which are depicted in Henri Rousseau’s paintings have inspired the Hermès by Christophe Lemaire Spring/Summer 2014 Show.

Other Henri Rousseau-influenced collections : J.W. Anderson Pre-Fall 2012 (to describe the urban fantasies that he showcased in this collection, J.W. Anderson told « British Vogue » that there was « an element of Henri Rousseau and jungles in Paris »), Saloni Resort 2014 (in this collection, Saloni Lodha mixed Le Douanier Rousseau’s work with the colors of India).

Furthermore, the walls of the 1st Jungle Jap store that Kenzo Takada opened in 1970, in Paris’ Galerie Vivienne, were decorated with murals that were influenced by Henri Rousseau’s « jungle » paintings.

When a floral motif is this good, you can wear it from head to toe and blend into the urban jungle with no fear at all ! xxxx

Merci, très bien dit ! Si seulement nous pouvions revêtir cette tenue fleurie et élégante pour nous fondre dans la jungle de la vie, pour qu’on nous laisse en paix le temps de retrouver le calme et la sérénité ! <3<3<3

Even the jungle would be jealous of the florals and color of this dress. So exotic … it would look fantastic with a BIG statement belt.

It would add a sexier feel to this fantastic printed outfit, and then, even the wild animals of the jungle would be jealous ! XXX

Such a gorgeous print—can you imagine if Monsieur Rousseau was alive to see it?!!
He could bask in the head to toe beauty of it all…
and enjoy his work being recognized…
as the source of Hermès inspiration~

Thanks for another one of your splendid comments ! Le Douanier Rousseau would be ecstatic to have inspired such a magnificent brand through his exquisite paintings !

I was just re-looking at this dress and realized that it is “me” for daily wear: print, colors, pockets, neckline, belt. I have never worn pants underneath, so I think I would just do the dress. Of course, Hermès for daily wear is out of my price range. But, one can dream, right? XO
