Schiaparelli Couture SS14

The bicornes that Stephen Jones has created for the Schiaparelli by Marco Zanini Couture Spring/Summer 2014 Show reference Christian Bérard’s brushstrokes.

Other Christian Bérard-inspired collections : Dior by John Galliano Couture Autumn/Winter 2005-2006 (this show was partly influenced by how Dior’s designs were reflected in the work of Christian Bérard), Moschino Spring/Summer 2004 (the pink georgette scarf-printed dresses were based on Christian Bérard’s surrealistic work), Nina Ricci by Peter Copping Spring/Summer 2011 (some sketches that Christian Bérard made for Nina Ricci inspired this collection).

I really love the cut of the dress, but a different fabric pattern would be more flattering. She is not large and the fabric makes her look large. As for the Tricorns? Nah~

I can’t imagine this very theatrical outfit on the red carpet because, indeed, it’s not that flattering, even if I like the way it highlights the shoulders ! XO
