The Jean Paul Gaultier Couture Spring/Summer 2014 Show, which starred Dita Von Teese, paid homage to butterflies because, according to the French couturier, « Life is a butterfly ! ».
Other items with butterflies, which were inspired by artists : Damien Hirst X Alexander McQueen (this capsule collection, launched on November 15, 2013, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Alexander McQueen’s « skull » scarf , features « butterfly » prints that were influenced by Damien Hirst’s « Entomology » series), James Jean X Lane Crawford (on October 18, 2012, James Jean launched the handcrafted fine-jewelry OVM collection, which included the « Butterfly » line), Peter Pilotto Spring/Summer 2009 (this show highlighted print effects based on Damien Hirst’s « butterfly » works), Sergio Rossi by Angelo Ruggeri Resort 2014 (the « butterfly » sandal pays tribute to Gabriella Crespi’s 1974 « Gocce Oro » candelabra).

LOL I don’t know how Dita Von Teese manages to have such a tiny waist, which is fabulously highlighted by Mr. Pearl’s incredible corset for JPG ! Thanks for your wonderful comment !

Wow!! I love it! I could see that skirt getting modified into a pencil skirt shape with the same pattern for a ready to wear line. Very cool-!

Ooh, La, La! Time to start waist training with a corset. I love the butterfly at the chest, the stripes, the long gloves, the stockings, the plume headpiece. The feathers at the bum might be too much of a good thing for my ASSets ~ 😉

Isn’t this amazing? Gaultier, Dita and butterflies..I must be in heaven! I’m always amazed how the designers, working separate lives can come up with the same theme..and then do it completely and utterly differently.. xxx

Quelle tenue extraordinaire !!! ❤
