Badgley Mischka AW1415 Vienna

The richness of Vienna, on the cusp of the 20th century, has influenced the Badgley Mischka Autumn/Winter 2014-2015 Show.

Other Vienna-inspired collections : Akris Autumn/Winter 2011-2012 (in this show, Albert Kriemler paid homage to the Vienna Secession movement), Carolina Herrera Spring/Summer 2006 (the theme of this show was a journey to pre-’20s Vienna), Dior by John Galliano Couture Autumn/Winter 2004-2005 (to explain the hourglass silhouettes of this collection, John Galliano told Style.com that he had gone on a research trip to Vienna, and then looked at Egon Schiele’s work and Empress Elisabeth of Austria), James Coviello Autumn/Winter 2009-2010 (this collection was based on the Arts and Crafts movement of early-20th-century Vienna), Jean-Louis Scherrer Couture Autumn/Winter 1987-1988, Louis Vuitton by Marc Jacobs Autumn/Winter 2005-2006 (the dark and rigorous fabrics and volumes of this show were inspired by a trip to Vienna, to research the Wiener Werkstätte turn-of-the-century Arts and Crafts movement), Nicole Farhi Autumn/Winter 2012-2013 (this show was inspired by Vienna’s Secession movement and Gustav Klimt’s opulent canvases), Pianurastudio Autumn/Winter 2008-2009 (this show partly paid tribute to the Secession movement), Roberto Cavalli Pre-Fall 2011 (turn-of-the-century Vienna was one of the 2 themes of this collection), Sari Gueron Autumn/Winter 2006-2007 (this show was influenced by early-20th-century Vienna and its Wiener Werkstätte movement), Tim Hamilton Autumn/Winter 2009-2010 (this collection partly referenced early-20th-century Vienna).

    Mmmm, mine!
The colors — the Gustav Klimt-esque metallics on top. And the Kubanka? Can I tell you how I adore fur hats.
    Mine!

Such a beautiful and rich gown … from the fur headpiece to the sparkly bodice and gold weave in the material … wonder what fabulous shoes she’s hiding underneath 😉
