Macaroons

27 Apr

Yohji Yamamoto AW1415

Macaroons, doughnuts and sweets were hand-painted by Yasuto Sasada on a couple of pieces of the Yohji Yamamoto Autumn/Winter 2014-2015 Show.

Other macaroons–inspired items : Boucheron Spring/Summer 2009 (« Tentation Macaron » jewelry line), Eple & Melk Spring/Summer 2009 (this collection included pieces named after sweet delights, such as the « Macaron » T-shirt dress), Kenzo by Antonio Marras (in the Spring of 2011, the « Macaron » clutches were launched), Nike (in the Spring of 2010, Nike produced the « Nike Air Royalty Macaron » sneakers), Vilebrequin Autumn/Winter 2006-2007 (« macaroons » patterns on men and children’s boxer shorts).

To read about Ladurée’s macaroons-inspired pieces or about doughnuts-influenced items, search for the « Ladurée » and the « Doughnuts » posts that I have respectively published on October 9, 2012 and on August 17, 2013.

Quelles belles couleurs pastels, j’adore !

Thank you ! Who would have thought that such sweet things as macaroons would inspire such a powerfully artistic piece ? XXX

Never did anything so sweet seem so far fetch and hypnotizing…
but this cape is all that and more…
or maybe it’s just that eye…
none the less, it’s all very creative!!~ xo

For sure it is, thank you ! I like the fact that this very colorfully creative piece was presented on Yohji Yamamoto’s runway ! I’d never thought that I could associate the darkly talented designer with macaroons ! XO
