The Odile Gilbert-styled hair of the Alexis Mabille Spring/Summer 2014 Show, « Bomb Girl », which was an homage to Rosie the Riveter reimagined as an Alberto Vargas’ pin-up, drew inspiration from Madonna in Susan Seidelman’s « Desperately Seeking Susan ».

Other « Desperately Seeking Susan »-influenced collections : Le Silla Autumn/Winter 2012-2013, Marc by Marc Jacobs Spring/Summer 2010 (the large bows in the hair of this show referenced Madonna in « Desperately Seeking Susan »).

To read about some Madonna-inspired collections or Madonna’s collaborations, search for the « Madonna » post that I have published on September 4, 2012.

To read about other Alberto Vargas-influenced collections, search for the « Alberto Vargas » post that I have published on October 12, 2012.

Indeed, thank you so much ! She’s a modern pin-up who has gorgeously embraced the glamour of old Hollywood, just like Madonna in the ’80s ! XXX

Loving it all, but the cowboy boots put the outfit over the top. Glamour with comfort! XO

Thank you ! The hair may say Madonna in “Desperately Seeking Susan” but the cowboy boots scream Madonna in “Don’t Tell Me” ! XO

such a gorgeous dress, we love the color, we’re really into mustard and yellows at the moment!!
we love that instead of wearing ultra feminine shoes, the model was sent down the runway in dominatrix boots! hot hot hot!

Maya Singer of Style.com uses the words “sex-bomb tomboy” to describe some of Alexis Mabille’s looks…
and just tweaking those words a little to “sex-bomb cowgirl”, perfectly describes this eclectically, elegant look!!~ xo

Those words are perfect ! I’ve just read an article on Dolly Parton’s style : she’d look like a true “sex-bomb cowgirl” if she decided to wear this “bang-bang-boom” look for her performance at next month’s Glastonbury festival ! XO

XD

Sorry, but I thought the gown as worn by the model looked so heavy as drapes and was carelessly presented. Next gown, please ….
