The Roberto Cavalli Resort 2015 Collection draws inspiration from Johnny Moncada’s ’70s images of Veruschka, taken from the « From Vera to Veruschka : The Unseen Photographs of Johnny Moncada » book, published in 2014 by Rizzoli.
Other Veruschka-influenced collections : Antonio Marras Resort 2015 (this presentation pays homage to Johnny Moncada’s photographs of Veruschka, on Sardinia’s Emerald Coast), Basso & Brooke Autumn/Winter 2011-2012 (the show notes mentioned Veruschka’s work with Holger Trülzsch in the 1986 « Trans-figurations » book), Clements Ribeiro Spring/Summer 2002 (this collection referenced the Saint-Tropez of Veruschka), Emilio Pucci by Peter Dundas Resort 2013 (partly), Giambattista Valli Spring/Summer 2008 (Veruschka, in her desert mode, was the starting point of this show), Giulietta Spring/Summer 2012 (Sofia Sizzi imagined a worldly woman like Veruschka going to a Mediterranean island), Lucas Nascimento Autumn/Winter 2014-2015 (the starting point of this collection was Veruschka in a late ’70s fashion story in « Playboy »), Maxime Simoëns Autumn/Winter 2014-2015 (the hair and makeup look of this show, by Laurent Philippon and Tom Pecheux, paid tribute to both Veruschka and Twiggy), Michael Kors Resort 2008 (this collection channeled Gloria Guinness by way of Veruschka), Rick Owens Autumn/Winter 2011-2012 (to describe the mink hoods of this show, Rick Owens told « Vogue »’s André Leon Talley that they were « part Veruschka, a little Cleopatra »), Tamara Mellon Spring/Summer 2014 (some cutout tops and dresses were influenced by the German model).

Gorgeous flow for the heat of the City. The slight breeze would allow this to billow. How lovely, how cooling. Sigh as I sweat. XO
