The Jean Paul Gaultier Couture Spring/Summer 2011 Show, titled « Punk Cancan », paid homage to French cancan and British punk bands, such as The Clash.
Other The Clash-inspired collections : Kelly Wearstler Pre-Fall 2012 (old videos of The Clash were among the influences of this presentation), Luella Autumn/Winter 2000-2001 (this show was titled « Daddy, who were The Clash ?»), Phi Spring/Summer 2008 (this show paid tribute to the « insouciant yet elegant » look of The Clash).
Moreover, in 2010, to launch The Rodnik Band for OVS industry capsule collection, Philip Colbert wrote the song « God Dress the Queen ! », which was based on The Clash’s « London Calling ».

Zizi Jeanmaire’s « Mon truc en plumes » (« My feather thing ») was one of the references of Jean Paul Gaultier’s « Black Swan »-themed Couture Autumn/Winter 2011-2012 show, which highlighted, for the finale, the « Libertine Swan » ostrich feather wedding gown, worn by Mylène Farmer.
Other Zizi Jeanmaire-inspired collections : Catherine Malandrino Autumn/Winter 2007-2008 (the short black side-parted hairstyle of this show was an homage to Zizi Jeanmaire), Dior by John Galliano Couture Autumn/Winter 2005-2006 (the French ballet dancer / singer was one of the influences of this collection).

Rudolf Nureyev’s style influenced the John Galliano Autumn/Winter 2011-2012 Menswear Show.
Other Rudolf Nureyev-inspired collections : Balmain by Olivier Rousteing Autumn/Winter 2012-2013 Menswear (Rudolf Nureyev’s style was mixed with the elegance of Russia’s Imperial Army officers), Carven by Guillaume Henry Resort 2013 (Peter Schlesinger’s photographs of ’70s icons such as Rudolf Nureyev have inspired this collection), Costume National Autumn/Winter 2005-2006 Menswear (the pieces such as caps, skinny trousers into boots, and scarves around the waist, evoked Rudolf Nureyev’s elegance), Jean Paul Gaultier Couture Autumn/Winter 2011-2012 (during this presentation, some men’s pieces were also showcased, which echoed Rudolf Nureyev’s iconic looks), Louis Vuitton by Marc Jacobs Autumn/Winter 2005-2006 Menswear (this show was partly based on Rudolf Nureyev), Roberto Cavalli Autumn/Winter 2005-2006 Menswear (the show notes mentioned Rudolf Nureyev).
