JPG Couture SS14The Jean Paul Gaultier Couture Spring/Summer 2014 Show, which starred Dita Von Teese, paid homage to butterflies because, according to the French couturier, « Life is a butterfly ! ».

Other items with butterflies, which were inspired by artists : Damien Hirst X Alexander McQueen (this capsule collection, launched on November 15, 2013, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Alexander McQueen’s « skull » scarf , features « butterfly » prints that were influenced by Damien Hirst’s « Entomology » series), James Jean X Lane Crawford (on October 18, 2012, James Jean launched the handcrafted fine-jewelry OVM collection, which included the « Butterfly » line), Peter Pilotto Spring/Summer 2009 (this show highlighted print effects based on Damien Hirst’s « butterfly » works), Sergio Rossi by Angelo Ruggeri Resort 2014 (the « butterfly » sandal pays tribute to Gabriella Crespi’s 1974 « Gocce Oro » candelabra).
