Wassily Kandinsky

Junya Watanabe SS15

Wassily Kandinsky’s color theory inspired the Junya Watanabe Spring/Summer 2015 Show.

Other Wassily Kandinsky-influenced collections : Carolina Herrera Spring/Summer 2012 (this show was based on Wassily Kandinsky’s clean lines and colors, and on the Bauhaus), Carlos Sobral Autumn/Winter 2011-2012 (« Wassily Kandinsky » jewelry and accessories collection), Christophe-Alexandre Docquin (the bridal dresses that Christophe-Alexandre Docquin has designed, especially for his Autumn/Winter 2009-2010 collection, are sometimes decorated with Wassily Kandinsky-influenced patterns, handpainted by Véronique Petit), Christopher Kane Spring/Summer 2007 (this show featured Wassily Kandinsky-style colored crystal mesh motifs on some pieces), Genny Autumn/Winter 2000-2001 (the colors paid tribute to Wassily Kandinsky’s paintings), Giorgio Armani Spring/Summer 2000 (the colors and the lines of this collection drew inspiration from Wassily Kandinsky), Lefranc-Ferrant Autumn/Winter 2008-2009 (some floral motifs echoed Wassily Kandinsky’s paintings), Louise Goldin Autumn/Winter 2008-2009 (some knits evoked Wassily Kandinsky’s op-art works), Malo Spring/Summer 2010 (Kandinsky’s vibrant color palette inspired this collection), Pino Lancetti 1973 (this collection paid homage to Wassily Kandinsky), Roseanna (« Kandinsky » motifs on the « Whamy » silk dresses that Roseanna has created for the Bon Marché’s Roseanna X Mini Me Rive Gauche mother / daughter collection, launched on August 30, 2014), Sass & Bide Resort 2012 (this collection, titled « A Winning Day », was partly based on Wassily Kandinsky’s abstract art).
