Raoul Dufy

Raoul Dufy’s « The Violins / Les Violons » pattern, which the French Fauvist painter produced for Bianchini-Férier, was revisited for 2 outfits of the Maison Martin Margiela collection Artisanal Spring/Summer 2014 Show.

Other Raoul Dufy-inspired collection and Raoul Dufy’s collaboration : Barbara Tfank Autumn/Winter 2010-2011 (the floral motifs for the dresses of this show were based on Raoul Dufy’s paintings), Paul Poiret (in 1910, Paul Poiret created, in association with Raoul Dufy, « The Little Factory / La Petite Usine » workshop, which produced printed patterns that were designed by Raoul Dufy).

A bust of Frédéric Chopin was duplicated for a top, embellished with cabochons, in the Maison Martin Margiela collection Artisanal Autumn/Winter 2013-2014 Show.

Other Frédéric Chopin-inspired items : Suspended Reality Autumn/Winter 2007-2008 (for her jewelry line, Michelle Jank partly drew inspiration from Frédéric Chopin), Uslu Airlines Spring/Summer 2008 (one of the nail polishes, made in collaboration with Bernhard Willhelm, was named « Warsaw Chopin Airport »).

Candy wrappers were used to make « Candy Fur », particularly for this « Opera » coat, from the Maison Martin Margiela collection Artisanal Spring/Summer 2013 Show.

Some candy-inspired collections : Craig Lawrence Spring/Summer 2009 (this collection was dubbed « Cocktails & Sweets »), Douglas Hannant Spring/Summer 2011 (candy, especially Jelly beans which influenced the color palette, was the theme of this collection).

Moreover, candy also inspired the caramel-accord « Candy » fragrance, launched by Prada in August 2011.
