To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Alexander McQueen’s « Skull » scarf, Alexander McQueen launches today the Damien Hirst X Alexander McQueen capsule collection, originally based upon Dante Alighieri’s « The Divine Comedy », which features 30 unique creations adapted from Damien Hirst’s « Entomology » series.
Other « The Divine Comedy »-inspired collections : Alexander McQueen Autumn/Winter 1996-1997 (this collection was titled « Dante »), Olympia Le-Tan (in January 2012, Olympia Le-Tan unveiled a collection influenced by Italian literary classics, which included a clutch with an embroidered motif of the cover of Dante Alighieri’s « The Divine Comedy » book, as part of a project as guest designer of Florence’s Pitti W trade fair), Rachel Frank (the collection that Rachel Frank presented, in May 2008, when she was a student at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, was a tribute to Dante Alighieri’s « The Divine Comedy »).
